History

JAPCON began its creative existence with Architect Prabhakar Bothireddy in 1987. Architecture and construction have always been part of Mr. Prabhakar Bothireddy's life. His father, Mr. B. Range Rao, was very well established in the construction industry in Chennai. With that influence, Mr. Bothireddy received his bachelor's degree in Architecture from Madras University. His next step was getting a Master's degree in Construction Management from the University of Nebraska in the United States.

With his Master's degree, Mr. Bothireddy worked for BECHTEL, the largest engineering & construction company in the United States. After many years of experience, having worked on billion dollar projects encompassing Airports, Refineries, High Rise buildings Mr. Bothireddy relocated to Bangalore, India and founded his own architectural firm JAPCON.

In the early stages the firm began working on Hospitals and Industrial buildings, the portfolio soon grew to include apartments, commercial buildings, Cargo warehouses, food processing units, schools, malls, villas, assisted living spaces - with the increase in projects the firm decided to open another office in Chennai, this has strengthened the firms capabilities and is able to efficiently manage projects covering South India.

JAPCON has the capacity of a large firm computerized, efficient and skilled in every aspect of planning and management, balanced by the rich and high interaction of a small one.

The firm has extensive experience in the making of a wide array of building types able to synthesize natural elements into its design.

The firm's commitment to vigorous, critical design review sessions has infused its designers with a shared sense of deep commitment to every project. The intense level of design counsel and creative interaction is purposefully kept high to stimulate new ideas.

JAPCON staff are happy to celebrate 20 years of designing major projects in India.
